bubbles || rays of light

I was outside blowing bubbles with my sister the other day..and you know what, bubbles are the hardest

things to take photos of. Seriously. She wanted me to push her on the swing and blow bubbles on her. ;)

These are the latest things I have drawn...what do you think? I think my favorites are.."Rain," "Good Morning,"

and "Life is Precious."

I don't want summer to end. I feel like it has just come! :P Camp NaNo is almost done. I've almost finished

editing my novella..and am preparing to start the new school year. It's crazy how fast things change..I'm

sort of nervous to have finished this novella. That means I have to show it to people, it means I have to let it

go and start a new one..I feel like, "I'll never get as good of a grand idea!". I suppose I will, it just might take

some time. I've been writing/editing this for the past six months, I mean, that's nuts! (for me anyways.. ;)

Have you succeeded in taking photos of bubbles?

What is the most memorable thing you've done this summer?

  1. Your drawings are beautiful. I especially love "Stars in the Sky." :) I know that feeling of not wanting summer to end; school is going to start for me in less than a month, and as much as I love new beginnings, I still feel like I'm not charged up and ready to go. Bubble photos are the hardest; I remember it took me two hours just to get at least five decent pictures of bubbles floating. xD

    xoxo Morning

    1. Thanks, Morning! <3 that one was super fun..I like those ones, because they just come to me. "Rain" came when I was watching the rain splash outside. :) Yes, but it will be good...haha, yes. I kept trying.. :P It's so hard! Thanks for the comment! <3

  3. Yes I have actually succeeded in photographing bubbles, but it is hard! There is a photo on one on the bottom of this post on my old photo blog; http://claresphotospot.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/not-all-is-as-it-appears.html

    2. The first photo on that post was slightly edited. (the hose in the background) as to how I did it. I dug a bit of a hole in the ground and put two bricks in it to hold the hose at the right angle and mostly underground. Then I turned the hose on just enough that the water would fly up then curve down and into the wine glass. Really not as cleaver as it looks.

  5. Your lettering is pretty good. What pen are you using? When I letter I use an ordinary pen, and that frustrates me, because it's difficult to get nice lines with an ordinary ballpoint.

I love the photos. Especially the one of your sister on the swing. Your posts are so beautifully done, Sarah. :)

    1. Thanks, Bonnie! I'm using a Paper Mate Flair. They are pretty good for the price. They are felt tip, so those work best because they are slightly thicker, making it easier to fill in and they bleed less. I also use ultra thin sharpies because you can get separate colors as you go.

Thank you! aw, your so sweet! <3
