water slide || splash of paint

Friday, August 07, 2015

A few days ago, we got a kiddie pool and water slide. We own a large index pool, but this year we just didn't get around to setting it up. :P It wasn't as warm of a summer this year, and time flew before we knew it. :) My siblings enjoyed the water slide very much. I tried it twice...and totally regretted it the next day. I mean, for the next three days I could barely reach my arms above my head. lol!

We've been painting our whole lower floor! We live in an old farm house, and when we moved here there was pink flowered wall paper and blue carpet. Yes. I'm telling the truth. Over the years we have painted, and as of this year we took out all the carpet and laid down wood laminate. It looks AWESOME. So, we decided (my mom, sisters and I that is) that it was time for a couple new coats of paint. We decided on a light brown coffee color, a creamish yellow and are still deciding on the blue. Ya know, blues are the hardest to decide on. :P It took us about two days to prime, paint, and do all the trim in our living room. Now, we have a new, beautiful, coffee colored living room. :)

Do you have a pool?
Do you enjoy painting?

  3. I know what you mean about watersides and the next day.... We have a pool, and it gets a lot of use by my brothers and sisters in summer, but I tend to sit and watch. It is quite a large underground pool.

  4. How fun! We don't really have a pool (besides a baby one) so we put soap on our trampoline and spray it with the hose. Surprisingly it makes a really good slip'n'slide. :) Your photos are soo gorgeous! I bet the floors look awesome! <3

    1. We had a smaller blow up pool for a long time..the ones you had to re-fill at every use. Seriously, I don't know how we stood it. It was FREEZING. That sounds fun, though slightly dangerous. ;) aw, thanks!

  8. That is awesome about redoing your house! Our house had and still has blue carpeting everywhere but the kitchen/dining room/living room (we have an open-concept house) where we put tile down. One of the bathrooms has MUSTARD YELLOW tub and toilet. That's what happens when you buy an old house. XD We painted our living room, years ago, a pine-forest green. It is beautiful! Our kitchen is a sunshine yellow. =) If you haven't decided on a blue yet, I'd vote for a ocean-blue. Not sky, and not super dark. Just a creamy blue. =)

    1. ooh. mustard yellow... :P haha yes, but you can change a lot of things with an older house that you couldn't with a new one. ooh, that sounds pretty! We will be painting our kitchen a creamy yellow as well. We wanted a brighter color, but it has to flow with the other coffee color, and it can't be too blinding..lol. :) I'll have to look it up.. :)

  10. Lovely pictures Sarah! That's great that you got to re-do your living room. I do sort of enjoy painting. Mostly when I'm doing the corners / trim with a brush. ;) Glad you're enjoying summer!

    1. Thanks, Annalee! I do most of the trim, corners, and spots where the rollers can't reach. My sisters always use the excuse that "I have the longest arms," so I can get the other spots easier. lol! It's a little hard painting the corners on the stair way..haha. Thanks, I hope you are enjoying it as well!
