the eve of christmas eve || snow deprived

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Today is the eve of Christmas Eve. If that makes sense. ;P
This year we decided not to make our own frosting for Christmas cookies. #mistake
The store frosting tastes..like bananas gone wrong. (supposed to be vanilla). I mean, gross! :P lol.

People, WHY is there a thunderstorm the DAY BEFORE Christmas?!?! Where is the snow? That's just totally not Christmas-y. I feel totally snow deprived. ;P

I am totally excited to give my gifts this year, I think this may just be my best year for finding gifts. (I finally found an awesome gift for my dad, BTW). I drew Julia's name for Christmas this year, and I believe I found the perfect gift for her. Don't you just love it when finding gifts for people comes easily?

Merry Christmas to you all!
'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be good to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'

what traditions do you have in your family?
will you have snow for Christmas?

  1. Haha. Snow-deprived? I'm right there with you! We've got rain, and mud, and clouds, and more rain. *sob* I'm sort of bitter about it. But trying not to be. ;-P

I hope you have a very merry Christmas, Sarah Margaret!! (And I love the picture of the white chocolate chips, btw. Soooooo yummy and pretty.)

    1. lol. I thought it fitting to my musings. dear me, the mud! I know, I know. *pats back* trust me, I understand. ;P Maybe I should paint the windows white so it looks like snow. :P We had snow on Christmas eve last year, then it melted before morning. Depressing? I should think so.

I wish you a very merry Christmas to you as well, Emma! <3 <3 I take photos of anything I bake, only half of them get on the blog because I don't wish to overload you with food photos. ;)

  2. Those cookies look so yummy! My family and I made some very similar to those and they tasted lovely. Over here in Indiana we had a tornado warning. I was not a happy camper. I have an extreme fear of Tornadoes (like many others I think) and it made me so sad to think that it won't be cold on Christmas. Today it was in the high 60s and it may stay like that for a few days. Grr.
My sisters and I always exchange our gifts to each other on Christmas Eve, and it was surprisingly not that hard to find gifts for them. Normally it's always really difficult to find the right gifts for them.
Some of the traditions I love during the Christmas time are when we sing "Happy birthday" to Jesus before we open our presents, eating Christmas dinner with my family and my grandpa, and going to a horse ranch with all my family a few days after Christmas.

    1. Thanks, Eve! My sis Ju and I made them together. :) Tornado warning!? I am right with you there, extreme fear. I shall never, I repeat, NEVER live in Tornado Alley. ;P I can't believe how warm of weather you are getting! It's still a little chilly here, but considered "warm" for us. ;P
Oh, that sounds like fun! We usually open the box from our grandparents who live a states away—that's always fun. :) Oh, I know, I got some awesome finds this year, I can't wait to give them!
That sounds like such fun! I just love staying home all Christmas day, it's such fun. We spend hours in the morning just spending time together, and relaxing in pajamas. ;) Merry Christmas to you, Eve! <3

  3. It is going to be in the high 70s on Christmas where I live so...No snow. (It's normal so) We will have our Christmas Eve service at out church and watch Polar Express tomorrow. It really is beginning to "feel" a lot like Christmas.

  4. Noooo, we sure aren't getting snow for Christmas-not even close. In fact, it's supposed to be almost EIGHTY tomorrow (!), and about 70 for Christmas Day.
Those cookies look really good!!! That's a shame about the icing though.... I guess it's back to homemade icing next year, huh?
We have so many traditions in my family, but one of my favorites is when my mom's entire side of the family gets together at my aunt's house on Christmas Eve. It's so fun!
Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!! :)

  6. Sarah I've never agreed with you more. Where is the snow? Where is the big winter coats? I'm wearing shorts right now. The high for Christmas is 62. Ugh! But a Merry Christmas to you! And I'm also excited about presents to. We have a giant present for all of the kids that I just can't wait to open. I also got a great present for my sister that I'm so excited for her to open! :)

  10. I feel the same way about the storms! My family had to go into our basement at 5 am this morning because of a tornado warning. 🙁 Thankfully the tornado stand a couple miles away! It's actually supposed to be 80 degrees here tomorrow, craziness. My family's tradition is to go to the "lights of life" it's a college that always put out many gorgeous lights!

I made peppermint bark. If you haven't had it, you really should. It's delicious. ;)

Actually, yes, my hair is naturally straight. Quite straight. I can't get it to curl for the death of me. ;P I don't use any hair product, other than sometimes heat protector. I just found a great way to blow dry my hair. I got some volumizing mousse for Christmas, so I'll be trying that out soon as well. :) aw, thanks for saying so, Autumn! <3
