IS HE NOT THE CUTEST YES HE IS
People, people, people. Strawberries are amazing. They taste like summer. Summer + strawberries = amazingness. The strawberry farm we have been going to for over 10 years to actually sold last year and we were worried the new owners were going to shut it down, but, thankfully they didn't. xD
It was the perfect day for picking. Nice and overcast...until, the sun shot through the clouds and seriously scorched my back. You coulda' cooked an egg on the cement.
Today's weather as forcasted? "HOT." << yeah, that's really what it says.

So my grandpa got this new ATV thing..and, well..Julia and I got in with him and started going around 40mph down the road, (so my grandpa says, I have no idea. I was screaming). You can seriously watch the ground pass below you in a blur.
It was fast. I really screamed. and it was F-U-N.
"Look out for the tree!" I screeched before he jerked to the left. Oh, grandpa.

P.S. I've got my plot! I came up with an idea and my sister and I brainstormed for a couple hours. I didn't sleep much that night. lol.

do you go strawberry picking?
have you ever ridden an ATV or quad super fast?

  1. STRAWBERYYY PICKING <3 I love it so much. I only went once this year, sadly. :( But other years some of my very good friends had a patch and I'd often go there (we're talking practically every. single. day. IT GETS TIRING.) to help them pick. AKFJSDKF it was okay i suppose. They're not nearby right now, so it's kind of nostalgic because we still made memories! (EVEN IF WE HAD TO PICK IN SCORCHING SUNLIGHT AHGHH.) DUDE I know right?? You could seriously cook an egg on the sidewalk here I bet in mid-July or something.

    1. We usually go once or twice in the year..so, eat lots of strawberries when you are there. ;) That sounds like fun (but tiring too), and hottt. I'd like to try cooking an egg on the sidewalk actually. *starts planning* Should I do it and make it into a blog post???

  4. Strawberries definitely are summer. :D And yay for coming up with a plot! *high fives*

Haha, I remember one time that some friends and I were riding on someone's ATV. There were way too many people in the back than what was supposed to be, and I ended up on the end, and there wasn't really room. The door was hanging open, and I was hanging on for dear life while it was going extremely fast! lol, you don't forget those things easily!

    2. Well, I actually didn't fall out, but I came super close to it! There were about 4 little kids in the 2 back seats, plus my best friend and I, so it was pretty funny! You should have been there....then you could have fallen out instead. xD

  8. My mom just made a tart strawberry and raspberry jam with some of the berries we have picked at my friends garden and we put it on cheese cake. Turned out great! It looks like these strawberries are a little smaller than regular ones! Loved the ATV story. Grandpas are simply the best.

    1. YUM. Julia made strawberry jam and we also froze some strawberries for smoothies later. Yeah, I think it was because we haven't gotten a ton of rain yet. Totally. :D

You should totally go! They are really awesome and taste nothing like the ones at the store. You eat them .5 seconds after you pluck them off the plants. :D

  11. I've always wanted to go strawberry picking! Up here, there are only blueberries, but the place to freshly pick them isn't something that my parents usually don't like going to, because it requires you to hike halfway and they aren't much of hikers. Also, like, teach my your skills to make a bun because there are always strands of hair that fall out and the one you have in the photo looks perfect!

    xoxo Morning

P.S. Yay! You're doing Camp NaNo, right?

    1. Maybe you can some time! I think it would be pretty cool to hike to get blue berries, is it a very long way?

lol. Ask Julia (it was her in the pic). She does a sock bun. It works great. you should totally google it. xD

      Yup! Are you??

  19. Sounds like you had fun! The strawberries look yummy - what do you typically use them for? You're blessed to have a farm so close by; we've tried to grow them, because there are no farms like that around, and they kind of don't grow. But other berries like raspberries and boysenberries grow well, so I shouldn't complain too hard. :)

Also, I'm just going to echo everyone else by saying: your photos are really nice! :D

    1. We normally use them for jam and put the rest in freezer bags to store throughout the fall and winter for smoothies and such. We freeze lots of fruit actually! :D We used to have a couple plants in our garden, but they just didn't give any berries. Oh yes, we have raspberries, peaches and blackcaps here along with some pretty bitter grapes. ;)

aw, thanks so much! <3 <3
