the day I stole a shirt from my mom || by a single hour

Sunday, June 05, 2016

My mom was showing me this shirt she had gotten from a thrift shop (she was planning on cutting it up for a

project). As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be mine.

It had a perfectly sketched out camera on it that looks exactly like mine and says, "let's click." um, can it get

better?

"Nooooo!! You can't cut this up! It's mine."

lol, and as you can see my mom let me have it. I mean, WHO COULD CUT THAT PERFECT THING UP?!

SUMMER READING. *freaks* LIKE, I MUST BEAT JULIA THIS YEAR. (she'll probably get after me for saying that,

but..oh, well.)

*ahem* if you've been following my blog for a while, you may remember last year and Julia's and my

competition with summer reading.*distant coughing*

She won. BY ONE SINGLE HOUR. It about killed me.

This year, I must prevail! (in a fun sisterly way, *ahem*)

*flies off to read like nuts*

isn't that shirt the most perfect thing you ever saw??

do you participate in summer reading?

    1. Well, I'm totally glad you like it! Your sister makes shirts? (or prints designs on them). That is totally cool! I'd like a couple other shirts..maybe she would make them for me. hahaaa. ;) I'd love a shirt that says, "i'm a writer" it would be so perfect. :D

  4. Ahh, I love that shirt! I NEED IT. :)

Every summer my sisters and I do a 100 Hour Reading Challenge. This year, my second and third sister went craaaazy and finished it in around fifteen days when we were still finishing school. I'm at... 50. :P But in my defense, I read much slower, and I am constantly highlighting (if it's a kindle book) and taking notes and such. :)

    1. lol! noooooo, it's mineeee. ;) Isn't it so perfect though? I mean, I love grey and the camera looks just like mine..and it's just so perfect. :D

That sounds super cool! When does summer reading start for you? You take notes with books? That sounds really cool-I'm just too busy turning pages. ;)

    2. Aw. Okay. ;)

It usually starts in June, but we were going to be pretty busy, so my mom gave the okay to start in May. She had NO IDEA they were going to finish so fast. :)

Yes, though I mostly highlight. Taking notes DOES take a long time, so I'm trying to stick to highlighting. Most of the time, when I come back to what I've highlighted, they make me remember what notes I wanted to take on them. :)

    3. So your mom does if for you? We have two libraries that we participate in. ;)

Do you highlight for your own writing? Or just taking notes so you remember the book? :D

    4. Yes, my mom and dad put it together with checklists and everything every year. :)

Hmm... no. I just take notes to learn from what I'm reading. :D

Summer reading challenges are great! I'm not doing one this year (except my personal goal), but I'd be so much more fun if I had someone to compete with! ;)

    1. Ah, Julia and I have each other to compete with. This year, we decided not to go so crazy. lol. It's pretty fun though..does your library do challenges?

      Delete
    2. Yes, but they're for younger kids, not teens. :(
Oh, well, it's probably for my own good, or else I'd read myself crazy. xD

  10. I love the shirt's caption! I actually own a short that has a camera and the caption around that says something along the lines of, "I like to shoot people." I know shooting is bad, but it's just a really bad pun. ^.^'

Good luck with your summer reading competition!
