PAGE 45 - FIRST SENTENCE || scrapping plots + camp nano nearing

Saturday, March 04, 2017

my sister and I have a random group chat and sometimes weird and cool things get randomly sent. (or it's often used to text each other to come downstairs or a "WHERE ARE YOU" in the store lol) this time, Bree sent this random thing from pinterest that said this —

choose the book closest to you. turn to page 45. tell us the first five words on the page.

*ahem* also. remember arthur? *note the chat name*

okay so do this and tell me your sentence in the comments, 'kay? yep.

also. guys. i may or may not be freaking out bc like legit - CAMP NANO IS COMING (if you don't know about this epicness check out this link - it's on online camp for writers. dooo itttt) and basically, I'm still in brainstorming mode with my novel. heh. *is totally not freaking*

basically I've scrapped the plot for this novel like...*counts* two times?...or was it three?...

p.s. i really wish the weather would make up its mind already. thunderstorms one day and snowing the next like okay plz stop. oh, and like four lightning strikes hit to-ground in that thunderstorm btw *blinks*

what was your random sentence??
are you participating in april camp nano? are you almost ready?

Your pictures are so pretty! I've never done NaNo or Camp NaNo simply because I don't have time, but I hope that I'll be able to someday!

I'm in the planning stage of my novel for Camp NaNo, as well...sometimes I wish I had never started a mystery series. It's just SO HARD to think of unique/engaging plots!!! I feel exactly like Lucy right now. You aren't alone. XD

ooohhhh we can get past this stage together, okay? ohh yeah wow. Mysteries sound hard. I gave em up when I was 11 lol - guess I just don't have the mind for it. it's hard to figure out that kind of plot BUT YOU CAN DO IT *cheers for you in the background while i dig through my messy brainstorming*

  6. Random sentence: "That boy would have eaten spinach, sauerkraut, salt mackerel--anything in order to be big enough to whip the bully who had humiliated him so often."

DON'T ASK WHERE THAT CAME FROM. I was sitting by a shelf of books I have to read for school and picked up a random non-fiction one XD

Eeeep! You're doing Camp! I was going to write a new novel, but resolved to spend the whole month editing my novel instead. 50 hours. I'm starting to regret that goal 0.0

I'm actually crazily thinking of writing a whole novel in April (which I haven't done yet) but that prob doesn't sound crazy to you considering you usually write novels in two weeks *blinks* hoowww

And this camp NaNo thing.. It sounds so good. Like, I've wanted to do NaNo every year since I found out about it, but the word goal is so scary because I do not even have any ideas for a novel, but camp NaNo sounds achievable (and fun ;)! I might have to look into it more!

okay, Jess - you have to do it okay?? just sit doen and do it once. Well with the camp nano's in april and july you can set your own goal. from 10 words to 100,000+. the whole thing is about setting your own goal and going for it - small or large - whatever. you should totally set yourself a reasonable goal and give it a try this year!!

  12. My sentence is "God cursed the snake"- from a children's picture Bible. That was my best option, 'cause there's more than one book closest to me. ;P (yea, only four words, but whatever)

  15. "These are the names of..." Turns out page 45 in my Bible (which was nearest at the moment) opens to Exodus. ☺
The other book (since I've two here) is "Jesus blasts the top birds..." Oh my word. Literally laughing out loud. That sounds hilarious. I had NO CLUE. (That's from "A Love Worth Giving" by Max Lucado.) Oh, wow. One of those out-of-context-doesn't-make-sense kind of things. And since I'm not that far in yet, doesn't make sense to me, either. XD LOL I love this. Thank you so much for sharing the idea; I'm going to have to do that to my sisters, too. ☺

CAMP NANO!!! WHOOPWHOOP! I am so excited. I wrote a novel for Camp NaNo in July last year- and this year, I am doing Camp again for the same novel! My goal is to rewrite it. :D
Lol. Maybe you should put your plot in the corner and tell it if it can't behave, it won't get Oreos. That hasn't worked for me, but maybe for you? ;D
