My Fujifilm s8630

Okay, for about a month now I have been on the search for the prefect camera. Not perfect maybe, but..better. I found it. It took 5 days to get here, which seemed very long..and today I have been playing around with it. Let's just say,

I LOVE IT!

It has so many neat settings, that are just so fun to play around with.
It has a CRAZY zoom, 36x. The macro is just, ahhh. But why am I telling you? Here are some photos so you can see for yourself.

These are all unedited, except for settings. :)

Okay, first I bought a camera that was used, but then I got refunded and after contacting the seller, it took like two weeks to get my money back. After that, I decided I didn't want to buy another used one. So, I started looking around some more. I found one that was on sale on Walmart that came with a case, it just looked nice, I decided I would return it if I wasn't happy with it. I don't think I'm going to do that anymore though. :)

I can't wait to play around with it some more. Though, it's a little cold outside, or freezing. It was in the NEGATIVES the other day! I only lasted like 10 minutes outside today, I couldn't get very good focus because the wind was blowing like crazy.

There are some really neat settings, like where you can make everything black and white, except for one color which makes it look really neat. It's a nice size as well and it takes photos very quickly, I am still learning how to use it, there are so many things to do.

My Mom got me a photography book from the library, the other day and it looks really neat. I have been getting a lot of good advice from that.

I am very amazed at how fast it takes pictures, with my old camera it takes so long and it was usually blurry. Some of my favorite settings are where light turns into stars (like the Christmas lights above), and where you can only see one color. I love the picture of my Bible and how it turned out.

So, I'm off to take some more pictures!

Do any of you know how to make/download videos?
                                                                                              Do you have a camera?
                                                                                                               If so, what kind?

    1. Thanks, Sophie! Oh wow, that sounds nice. I had a small Fujifilm digital camera that I liked, but drove me crazy. So, I saved up and got something better. :) That sounds really neat!

  4. Very nice. Your photos are sure to improve with practice now you have a good camera. I use a Canon 600D camera with a really good portraiture lens (canon lens EF 85mm 1: 1.8)

    1. Thanks, Clare! Yeah, I could take pretty good pictures with my smaller camera, but I didn't really like them. There's just something about a taking a good photo that makes you feel good. I have always been very interested in photography, it's just so neat. Wow, I heard the Canons are really good. :) Thanks!

    1. Actually, my older sister took that one. We were playing around with it when I first got it, she has one similar only a little older version. Really? Neat! I heard about those too, I just decided on a Fujifilm because my sister had one, and I had already had one that was pretty good but smaller. :)

    1. Thanks, Beth! I was playing around with the settings, and actually I got some really great lighting from where I was sitting because I was near a window. :D Oh wow, neat! Hmm, whenever I try and load my videos it will take like 8 hours! I just wasn't sure if you had to load them on some website in order for it to work/be quicker. Thanks!

  10. Your pictures are amazing!!! I went through like three cameras, and I like broke them all... which wasn't too good :P But now I have the Nikon J1, and I really love it. I'm just praying I don't break it too :-) Your camera looks really good! Also, I really love your blog... Definitely followed :) Oh, and are you Julia's sister? sorry if that came off weird or anything, I was just wondering and thinking probably too much :)

    2. I'll try not to :) I guess what happened was just that I dropped them too much or anything. I remember like one time I was with my friends and we were going to take pictures of our dolls (this was like a lot of years back, I don't even remember when) and we set MY camera on a narrow piece of wood, and it plummented to the ground with a thud. Well, that was the end of that. :)

Hehe, yeah, I don't really know how I knew. I probably saw a mention somewhere or something :) Not stalking! That's really neat :)
      You're welcome!

    3. Oh, I'm keeping my camera up and in a bag when I'm not using it. ;) Ooh, that would have been bad! I've dropped my old camera many times, it was a faithful thing. ;) Yeah, I think we've mentioned it here and there before. :)

    1. Thanks! I agree. :) I could help give you some tips if you want? Do you have a camera? If so, what kind? I've found that using Macro gets really great close up shots, without it, your pictures will turn out blurry. I like getting angled shots as well, than trying to get the whole object in, unless it's a person. Just keep trying more, get some photography books from the library they really help. I use to take horrible pictures, I'm just now getting better. :) The best things to take pictures of I found, are random thing you do/see during your day. I just carry my camera around and take a picture of whatever I'm doing. Let me know if you need any more help, or if I was confusing! :D

  16. You've had the camera almost 8 months now. What's your impression now that you've had a chance to use it a while? How does it do at the beach or in bright sunlight?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think it does really great in bright sun light, and I haven't yet had a chance to try it at the beach..but there are beach settings on it as well. In Manual settings, you can change the aperture to 2000 which works super for bright sunlight! Hope this helps. :)

  17. Hi. I have the Fuji s8630. And I have a question for you. Is there a way to turn off the automatic preview of the picture after taking it? If so how... I would like to take several pictures and look at them when I'm done. Please help!

    1. Hello! My camera doesn't automatically preview the photo after I take it, so there must be a way in the settings to remove that..I may have found it.

Try clicking on the menu, into settings, into 'image display,' then change to off. I tried it with my camera and I now see no preview. Hope this helps!
