frozen fingers || wintry design

Saturday, December 19, 2015

My sis, Bree, and I decided to take a photoshoot outside, after (being the photographers we are) we watched the flurries outside we just had to take some photos. Up above you can see the results of our shoot. She'll be posting her photos on her blog in a few days..if you're interested to see my photography work. ;) You can see them at: Cover up for Christ. Oh, and she took the photos of me. I'm not that awesome at photography that I can take my own photos. Yet.

Oh, and duh, it snowed. ;P I went out in the afternoon to take photos, and by the time we took our shoot the snow had about covered the ground.
It.
Was.
Cold.
*it is cold. It's a problem being a photographer in the winter. When your fingers freeze stiff, seeming to stick at your camera. You can't slightly hold down the shutter button to get the right focus, it's pressing all or nothing. It's *snap, snap, snap* "Let's get outta here!" As you may have noticed, I got a new design! Bree made the banner, and I did all the other coding stuff that I really enjoy. Check out my updated "about" page.

oh, and I now have a Google+ page..if you interested in stalking me, click here. Be assured, I would surely enjoy if you follow—I'll even give you a virtual cookie.

do my fellow photographers relate with the "frozen finger" problem?
what do you think of my wintry design?

  3. Oh goodness yes! XD Well, not now quite; it was cold today but its not snowy or COLD COLD. Its around the 40-60's! I pray for snow anyway! ;D
But yes, my fingers went numb this autumn, and I couldn't feel them at all so it was like 'welp hopefully that looked good' XD
I wish you a very Merry Christmas, I've been loving the photos on your blog! :) God bless!

    1. Oh yes, it's often just COLD, surprising enough, it doesn't always mean snow. Perhaps it's too cold even for the snow. ;P
lol! Yes, photoshoots are way more rushed in winter. ;)
Merry Christmas to you as well! <3 aw, thanks so much! <3 <3

  5. Those photos are gorgeous!! I love the hat and coat you're wearing. The "frozen finger" problem is very real to me, my friend. There has been many a time when I've done winter photo shoots outside and my finger get really numb, so normally I finish the shoot really quick and run back inside.
The snow looks so lovely! We haven't had snow yet, but I'd like to have a little snow here for Christmas. Hope you have a lovely Christmas, Sarah! <3

    1. Thank you so much, Eve! I actually crocheted the hat—it's the first pattern that I really love! ;P Ugh, I know! And photographers gloves are SO expensive. I saw a DIY that just cut the tips off the two main fingers. lol.
We've had a few snows, but it just keeps melting. For Christmas we should have rain/snow. Lovely. ;P
Merry Christmas to you as well, Eve! <3 <3

    3. Same here... ;P Yes, it's looking rainy. Though, Christmas day should be sunny. I don't believe we had snow on Christmas last year either.. ;P

  8. Wow, those pictures look awesome! :) And you have snow!!! So cool! We have some too, mostly little crunchy bits scattered over the ground, but hey, I'll take any snow we can get! :P

And yes, that photography problem...argh, wish I could do it with mittens, but it's hard to handle a camera with thick wooly gloves on. Especially if you've got the manual focus on XD. And may I just say, you and your sister have some serious talent in photography! I love every single one of your photos, they're amazing! :D

    1. Thank you! <3 Well, we did have snow—the rain melted it all. It is going to rain all week, except Christmas Day is supposed to be sunny. :)

ugh. I know. It's hard to wear gloves to get the focus right. I'm thinking of getting some normal knit gloves and cutting off the tips of two fingers. That should work. ;) aw, thanks so much! I've learned a lot from Bree. ;) I hope to get a DSLR some day, but this camera works really well when you get the hang of it. I think I might be overwhelmed by all the settings on a DSLR. ;)

  9. I usually do have frozen fingers if we get snow! I love the new design! Do you think it'll snow on Christmas? It is going to be summer weather where I reside during Christmas festivities. :(

    1. Sometimes it's even too cold to snow, and it's just biting wind. ;P Thanks, Allie! <3 Sadly, it's not forecasted..It should rain all week—but be sunny on Christmas Day. :) Merry Christmas, Allie! <3

  10. Those pictures are beautiful!!! SNOW!!! :P I'm so desperate for snow right now, just need a teeny tiny bit for Christmas. Of course a huge dumping of snow would be very welcome too:D

  11. Goodness, the design is SO PRETTY. *happy sigh* *just keeps looking at it* xD
And I'm jealous with how perfectly you make your images that size. I always have a bit of a trouble making them all line up and fitting the post space, so good for you! xD It's very pleasing to look at. :)

oh, it's not that hard. I just resize them to my liking on Picmonkey. It takes seconds. ;P Then I upload 'em on blogger and select "original size." lol! I love your blog the way it is, your blog is just extremely fun to read and everyone wants to comment, because you actually talk to people. ;P <3

  12. I related to this post on so many levels! Winter photo shoots (whether with people or plants, in my case ;) are so hard! I always put like five layers on before I go out lol. Even though it's really not cold at all in Ohio - which is a complete outrage. Lol.

Gorgeous photos. You are getting more pretty by the day! I love your new design also!!
