GUYS. I CONQUERED SEAFOAM MAKING

if you have been around her for a while, you've probably heard about my epic seafoam fail. (basically I made it four times in one day bc it kept failing and I AM SO STUBBORN) basically, I was doing it by eye after my thermometer broke. (seafoam is like a honey tasting, crunchy, chocolate-covered candy and has 1423870340872 names for it jsyk)

so months later, I FINALLY remembered I should buy a candy thermometer and found one for like $4 and was like, sure, whateves.

basically, seafoam takes nothing to make. the problem was that last time, it kept sticking to the pan, the waxpaper, or the foil and just *flails* THIS STUFF STUCK TO EVERYTHING. I saw an idea online to use a cheesecake pan. so my older sis and I buttered it lightly and hoped for the best.

guys. it worked. It came out of the pan like a glove.
I cut it into pieces (I decided against the use of a hammer lol) and covered it in chocolate. and, okay, my dad doesn't like seafoam but he ate like multiple pieces xD just make sure to soak your pan in super warm water bc basically it hardens like a rock. k? good. xD

if you have a candy thermometer, you could just make this.
life has been insane. extra busy filled along with the normal busy = insanity and also stress xP I came to the realization that I just wasn't enjoying my time doing things...I mean, I was - but I always had something to do hanging over me. I had to prioritize. basically, I came to a decision.

I'm quitting blogging.

JK JK. HAPPY LATE APRIL FOOLS (you guys are lucky I didn't try to prank you tho muahahaha) okay, but I have decided I will be posting less this month. with school + algebra and basically finishing school up for the year, along with writing a bunch, and just LYFE...I just don't have time for my normal blogging schedule. like, I don't even have time for sleep anymore AND GUYS. I NEED SLEEP K.

so the plan is to post every 8 or 9 days or so. I'm planning on possibly making the posts longer? idk xD basically I'll be adding writing, life and nano updates to whatever I post. don't except much change - just a bit more of a gap between posts.

I think we should all take this advice from dory -
well, I'm off to eat seafoam and pound out the words (or try xP)

have you ever tried candy making??
do you feel like you should slow down? TAKE DORY'S ADVICE xD

Sometimes I feel like I cant get everything I want to get done in 24 hours. But I just have to remember to take one thing at a time.

    1. oh, totally! it's easy - just find the right way so it won't stick to a pan and you have to have a candy thermometer XD let me know if you try it!
ah, so same. it's crazy how fast the time goes, but totally. xD

Yah, algebra. What grade are you in? I'll be doing algebra next year and I'm soooo dreading it...:(((((
Good job on the sea-foam-whatever!!! I honestly don't think I'd be able to make that. But maybe. :)

    1. LOL. GOT YOU. XD well, I'm on my third year of algebra so I'm pretty done with it. but it's really not THAT bad. I mean, it is now bc I'm more into it with algebra II. but the first year of algebra for me, was pretty cool.

aww, thanks! it's not really that hard, but easier to organize when you have two people. (my sis made it with me XD)

  3. I actually haven't made candy yet...would you recommend it? Lol. (But between you and be, I love baking Bundt cakes.) ;)
I certainly do think I should be less up-tight and everything, and life is pretty busy right now, so when the time comes -- which I assure you will probably be soon -- I'll remember Dory's advice. Thanks for the reminder! :D
And I'm so glad to hear you have decided what will be best for you during your extremely overwhelming times. So I support your decision!

    1. I'd recommend seafoam - totally! it's really easy, uses barely any ingredients (in case you mess up lol) just make sure to soak your pans, use a candy thermemoter, and butter a pop out whatever cheesecake pan, or a normal one with parchment paper. it's sooo worth it and tastes soo good. also, make sure to use the chocolate that /hardens/ XD

sometimes it's hard to slow down, but good when you do. aw, thanks, Amelia! that means a lot to me. don't you get too busy either, K? XD

  4. AGH YOU SCARED ME THERE. And then I rationalized to myself, No that's not happening. XD And I'm posting less this month too! Mainly because of Camp, but also because I came to realize that I'm spending sooooo much time blogging and not enough time with family, doing chores, spending time outside, etc. YES DORY IS WISE LET US ALL LEARN FROM HER

    1. aww go ahead and trryy ittt. but I understand okay. if I wasn't so stubborn and a perfectionist I would have given up long ago. I mean, I made seafoam last time like four times and it stuck to the pan every. single. time. in the process, I dropped my phone (it didn't break, thankfully lol), tried every pan and every way of buttering it and ended up having the wrong chocolate, and then my candy thermometer died. but it worked this time which I'm happy for XD

hahaha. ikr? that's more like summer for me - ahh summer. cannot wait XD

    1. eeeee thannkk youuuu

I do actually..let me find it. well, I found it but I can't really recommend the website. :P just google "seafoam recipe" and you'll come up with a bunch of recipes. They are all pretty much the same. The only thing I'd say is have a candy thermometer, and use a pop out cheesecake pan lightly buttered to put it in. sorry about that!

UM. DUDE. NO. every nine DAAAYYYS. so don't freak - I don't think I could leave you all for that long anyways lol XD

  12. Okay. You got me good. For like two seconds. But still.

My brother and I have made turkish delight once. It was /so/ good. I'm not sure it counts as candy, though?

    2. I tried three times before it finally worked, but once I had a working candy thermometer everything was a breeze. I used the recipe on the actual C.S. Lewis site, I could see if I could dig up the link?

It's pretty sweet, and I don't actually recommend dusting it with powdered sugar. It would have been so much better it we hadn't done that. It also looks nothing like the movie. But I enjoyed it.

    4. haha, sometimes recipes have to be tried a bunch of times to get them right. :P lol, I learned the hard way that you have to use a candy thermometer. xP

hmm.. without the powdered sugar, wouldn't it be sticky?? aww thanks for the recipe! I'll have to try it *will do this*

  13. I have never made candy before, it seems like a lot of fun! A lot of times in life I feel like I need to slow down, I usually like to take a break every weekend to just relax by sketching or writing. Dory's Advice is very helpful :) Wonderful Post!

    1. haha, well, it can be fun when it turns out. But it can be a pain sometimes too. :P I'd say the product is cool when it actually turns out like the real thing.

same. that's such a great idea! it's funny bc I always look forward to a "relaxing" weekend, but often, it ends up just as busy as the weekdays XD aw, thanks!! <33
