Camp NaNo

post2
I'm doing it. Call me crazy, but I'm doing it.

Ahem, sorry for the stiffness there, back to normal. ;) So, I'm going Camp NaNo for the first time ever. I wanted to ask some of you fellow writers..it 40,000 words a novel, or 50,000? I've read things that said both, but was unsure.. :) My goal is for a novella...Although it would be really great if I made it to a novel!

Here is a synopsis:
For years Meryl has tried to forget a promise that she made with her brother..hoping that when he comes back all will be well. Now she knows, he may never come back and it's up to her to save the people from the Duke. Unsure who she believes in, she knows it's up to her to find her family and save the people, but soon she finds out..she can't do it alone.

And here is an excerpt:
   “Promise?”
   “Promise.”
Meryl sat straight up, looking around for the horses and Jarin to no avail. With a swish of her hand she wiped the beads of sweat that had gathered during the night. Then it hit her, this wasn't home, yet where was home? She was in the King of Walsh’s castle. Meryl thrust her covers off and placed her feet on the icy floor. With a sigh, she began pacing back and forth in the large room. Suddenly she heard footsteps echoing down the hall. Hurriedly, she leaped into the large bed, pulling the covers over herself attempting to make-believe she was asleep. The footsteps stopped at the door, she waited. The door cracked open, letting in the streaming light of a candle. There seemed to be a pause.

So, that's what I have so far....I've written 12,060 words and am aiming for a total of 30,000 atleast by the end of April.. :)

Will you be joining Camp NaNo?
What do you think of my synopsis? Does it sound interesting?

Everyday life

signs of spring

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

I believe spring it starting to arrive...it's still cold, but I found a green plant the other day, green! My sisters and I went outside to take a photoshoot. :D We celebrated St. Patricks day a couple days ago a little late, and mixed it with my younger brothers birthday. We played Banagrams a lot. If you haven't played it it's basically like scrabble but you have your own game and can change words, then who ever uses up their letters first wins. It's really fun!

I've been writing...a lot. I also got some really great writing books from the library - it's always nice to learn a few more techniques. :D So far I have..10,533 words. I'm hoping to make it a novella..though,40,000 words is a lot, so I don't think I'll make it to a novel. ;) I would like to make a series, so we'll see what happens. :D
Are there any plants popping up where you live?
                                                                                                       Have you ever played Banagrams?

Everyday life

a concrete...something?

Monday, March 16, 2015

The other day we took  a walk..it was just so beautiful out! Of course, Macro came along. :) I've really been enjoying my camera, especially outdoors! :D I'm really looking forward to spring, then there will be things to take photos of other than snow covered objects.. ;) It's like, "Oh, let's take a photo of this snow, oh and look at this snowy ground, and OH look! Snow covered berries!" lol. I can't wait for summer and spring. Can you tell?

Okay, see that weird looking concrete thing? We still have no idea what it is..the door is sealed, there is a small hole in the top...we tried guessing but we couldn't think of anything! It sure it weird looking...have any ideas?

Also, I just joined a group of blog with some Christian girls! It's Girls Living for God's Glory, I'll be posting tomorrow, so check back to see my post then! ;)

Okay, I'm so excited. All the snow has melted. I repeat, it is all gone! I was able to open my window in my room, hear the birds chirping and make some paper beads today. :D I also went outside to play in our chalk village, ah, I'm feeling spring. I hope it comes soon. :)

Do you know what the concrete thing is?
Has the snow all melted for you?

redo your room

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

You can Redo Your Room easily with the help of this book! With tips on how to clean, organize and make it your own you'll have a newly decorated room with your own special touch in no time! This book is very inspiring and helps to get you motivated and started.

Redo Your Room by FaithGirlz is a really awesome book, it has all sorts of easy DIYS for your room, and it separates it all into sections, such as: your desk, bed, closet, ect. It gives tips on how to clean your room, organize and make it your own. I found it very fun to read because of the colors, and openness of it all. This book gets you motivated to clean and start decorating! I'll probably be doing a post on some of these DIY's soon. :) I really loved the size and feeling of this book, it was the perfect size.

One thing I was not very happy with, (which is why I rated this four stars) is that there are a few pages of immodestly dressed girls in this book. Which would have been very easy to leave out, especially for a Christian book!

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book and thank Booklook Bloggers for giving me this book to do an honest review! :)

I received this book from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review, I was not required to write a positive review. These opinions are entirely my own.

weathered with age

 weathered with age

the memories...
the moments...
special days..
sorrows,
happiness,
old summer days.
an old barn,
so many years,
so many generations.
stories to tell,
hidden in the cracks
of every board.
weathered with age,
through storms it's stayed.
through the troubles,
and happiness it's yet standing.
keeping animals warm,
bringing shelter on the farm.
oh, if only it could tell
the memories it holds.
