at the beach

Monday, July 24, 2017

my first kayaking trip (note: bring snacks + water next time). gma and gpa visiting. blueberry donuts. long car rides + cramming all the luggage on the car floor. waves splashing. taking lots of photos. foggy skies. new camera card = new possibilities. discovering 'rogue one' on netflix (will be watching this again soon!!). going to the library to plan new teen events. early morning rising. working at the CSA. walking a total of 600+ steps to get to the beach. all-you-can-fill frozen yogurt (get cookies and cream it's ammaazinngg). falling asleep in the car ride home against gpa's shoulder. new shoes. wading in the water. ice cream. mozzarella cheese sticks. watching 'the finest hours' again. snuggling with 5 yr. old sis on the couch. barefeet + walking on the beach. falling asleep with your bedroom light on. extreme nerf wars. talking about photography with my gpa. almost being done with our house redo. baking bread. frizzy beach hair. hugs. lots of hugs. saying goodbye. "it's the hardest part. the leaving." as my gpa said yesterday. being busy. learning to be more patient with myself and my limits. striving/learning to crave Jesus and His word more. enjoying every moment. living life. <33

  1. These are beautiful pictures!! And all those things you listed are so wonderful, just reading them gives me a happy-sigh feeling :)
Lately, I've come to realize how much my friends mean to me. How much I really love them and how amazing they are. I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but up until just these last few months, I've felt like I don't have enough good friends. That I was lacking in my social circle (call me discontent, that's what I was), but God has just been showing me that they are treasures that I need to nurture and love. I don't deserve such amazing people in my life, and that has really been showering on me a feeling that is so pure and wonderful.
    Thanks for writing :))

    1. thanks, Olivia! it was a completely different sort of post than I normal write - it just came out of nowhere, I suppose. life has been so busy and full of so many feels that it's hard to explain it sometimes. I think this covered it rather well, though. XD ohh really?? hahaa, that's remarkable, considering I'm normally not a poet xP XD thank you! <33

  6. This is beautiful. The photos, the words, the love. Grandparents are amazing. And the ocean just makes you see how BIG it all is. How great and powerful GOD is, and how small we are, but love is so great and so we aren't so small after all.
    God bless, Sare.

  11. Such beautiful pictures! I miss the water and the waves so much right now <33

God's been giving me a major trust-test right now. Isaiah 43:18-19 has been my anthem: "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

aw, yes, I understand that. I think being an INFJ personality type might have something to do with that also? it's hard to trust sometimes, or when you do it's hard not to take it back and try and wing it on your own. xP that is an amazing verse, thanks for sharing it, Audrey! I'll be praying for you <33

  13. I love posts like this. <3
What I have been working on is closer to the Lord lately... my relationship with Him has not been what I'd like it to be. And it seems he has been working on my trust when it comes to his plan for my life... when I acknowledge my surrender, it feels like I am falling, I am helpless; I have no control over anything and I try to get it back. But then I realize I never had any control over any of it- that the 'control' I had once had over my life had been imaginary. Its so true. God is in control. And we, the teeny little humans, can not get in God's way at all. We're in his story and he'll do what he thinks is best for us.
my favorite way to think of God is The Great Storyteller, and we humans merely the characters.

Lately what I have been doing mostly is blogging and stalking other blogs (including yours ;), and reading and dreaming up a new story.

    I love your blog!!

    1. aww, thank you, Kendra! aww, so same. I've been re-prioritizing lately and feeling similar. it's hard to be patient and wait sometimes, and feel like you don't know what you are supposed to be doing. we just have to be content, do all for Christ and be ready. which is harder than it sounds. xP so true, we just need to stop fighting for the controls and let God guide our lives cuz He has the better plan <33

hahaa, well I'm glad you've come out of stalker-mode for a bit! I love reading your comments, it makes blogging even more worth it for me. oohhh dreaming up a new story?? sounds exciting!! thank you SO much for commenting, Kendra, it seriously made my day <33
